Investor vs. general consumer confidence as related to the Real Estate market
Reading about the state of the Real Estate market in general can be a bit confusing for most of us. Opinions not only differ from publication to publication, channel to channel, but even within the same piece of news, there is disagreement on where we are in the recovery cycle. A recent article published by the Orange County Register, titled: “Home prices could take 4 years to stabilize” has different sources within the Real Estate community addressing where we are in the cycle and how long the market will take to recover. The title of the article was from a statement made by a Realtor stating his projection of the time the market will take to stabilize, not yet a recovery. Several other Real Estate professionals quoted seem to agree that for the most part, there is no recovery in the market yet. That is painfully obvious in the most recently published report on home sales and home values by Dataquick, a company who has been tracking sales and price statistics for decades.
